Beetham Tower is a landmark £150 million development; it’s highly prominent position on one of Manchester’s premier thoroughfare, Deansgate, along with its proximity to tram and train routes, and has made the tower an instant landmark that is popular with much of the public. However, it has been criticised by some for its boxy minimalist design. The aesthetic appeal may be debatable but the structural significance is not; it stands at 171m tall and has the UKs highest living space. The building includes a five star, 285 bedrooms Hilton Hotel and a destination sky bar on the 24th floor. The architect, Ian Simpson, has bought the duplex penthouse apartment.
