Volunteer Roles Have Been Filled

Thank you to everyone who applied to volunteer for 2010 World Championships. We are currently assigning roles to volunteers to be completed by June 1st 2010.

If you have already registered to volunteer but have not been contacted please contact 2010@englishlacrosse.co.uk with your details.

 

3000 lacrosse players from over 30 nations will descend upon Manchester this summer and we need your help to put on the largest and most successful World Championships to date. Volunteers are required for various positions for both the Community, Championship and Festival tournaments.

Venue                 The Firs, Manchester University

Dates                  Mandatory 2 hour Training Session 10th - 14th July 2010

                           Community Festival                          12th - 14th July 2010

                           Championship                                   15th - 24th July 2010

                           Festival                                             17th - 20th July 2010

Requirments below must be met by all interested Volunteers:

  • Complete application form
  • Perform at least two, 7 hour shifts
  • Attend one, two hour training session (offered 10th-14th July 2010)
  • 16 years of age or over (under 16yrs subject to adult supervision)
  • Committ to days/hours indicated on initial application
  • Wear suitable attire in keeping with the status of the competition
  • Act at all times in a sober and alert manner reflecting a major sports event environment

Traits we are looking for in Volunteers:

  • Punctuality and reliability essential
  • Good listening skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Adaptability to a change of role request if required

Required Training:

Attendance is required at one, two hour training session for ALL volunteers (10th-14th July 2010). All volunteers will be given adequate guidelines in order to fulfil the various roles. Where additional specific or specialised training is required this will be provided by the organisers. All volunteers will receive regular supervision, support and guidance during the period of their involvment.
